Following his retirement, he became a Senior Vice President with Control Risks, an international risk consultancy, assisting clients in managing overseas kidnapping incidents. Currently, Gary focuses on speaking engagements related to his book "Stalling for Time: My Life as an FBI Hostage Negotiator," which was part of the basis for the Paramount Network's six-part miniseries about the infamous Waco Siege, where Gary played a pivotal role. His presentations focus on the key lessons learned throughout his career, and how those communication skills can be applied to avoid and resolve conflict, gain cooperation, and create more meaningful relationships in our professional and personal lives.
